250-word executive summary and reflection of the National Educational Technology Plan.....

Under the Obama administration and his National Educational Technology Plan, education has become a highlighted priority driven by two clear goals. According to his plan, by 2020, we will raise the ratio of college graduates from where it now stands @ [39%] to that of 60% so that our population has the opportunity to achieve an associates or bachelors degree. This plan also aims to narrow the achievement gap so that all students – regardless of race or socio-economic status can graduate from high school with sufficient readiness to succeed in college and in desired careers. In Layman's terms, the model asks that we focus on the quality of the content rather than quantity. Variables such as what students need to know, how they learn, where/when they will learn are taken into consideration, leaving behind the one- size fits all methodology and dawning a new individual learning plan that fosters quality over quantity. Professional development and training would be available in many formats, ultimately being available 24/7 as well. In summation, with this plan, all education and educators will be linked together like the World Wide Web. In theory, there will be no barriers, no constraints, the world will literally be at the educators and learners hands. There will be 24/7 accessibility of untapped resources, analytical tools that will help the teaching and learning process surpass the limits in which it once was, and into a new era of educational enlightment in which technology plays an undeniable role.
